I just finish the summer course in my University PSUT
and i took 3 courses ( Calculus2, Netural Network and Digital Image Processing)
our D.r Ashraf Ahmad waz so gernours with the information he gave us.
its a complex world with complex theroy with so much of mathmteical equation to use to get the best value
About almost all of our lecture was about the CODEC which refrence for coding decodieng
i’ll try to describe it in short
Coding :
- Blocker ( divide the image to 8*8 or 16*16 block )
- DCT ( discret cosin transform , which ill describe it later in another post)
- Qunatanizer ( simple one is take from 0 to 5 and make it 0 ,from 5 to 10 make it 1 and so on until we rich 51 which will stand for byte , also its a lossy comperission)
- Zig-Zag Scan ( which stand for dianlog scan and converting the 2D array to one diminsion array , [ DC element, 1 ,2 ...... , n] )
- Channel Coding ( here we use any comperssion teqhniuqs like Huffman or LZW )
For the Decoding methods all of the above but in inverse
note : this teqniques are used in JPEG
